Hi, I'm Debdatta Dasgupta.
I've been blogging about books since 2012, and while The Curious Reader is a new name, it carries forward the legacy of my award-winning blog, Bookish Indulgences (formerly DD's Reviews).
Over the years, the blog has been recognised with three Limca Book of Records entries for book reviews, named among India's Top Blogs, and won the IndiBlogger Award in the Books category. More importantly, it has introduced readers around the world to stories by both Indian and international authors.
Alongside blogging, I've spent over a decade working in the publishing industry as a freelance beta reader and digital publicist, collaborating with authors and publishers to help books find their readers.
But before any of that, I was simply a reader.
The Curious Reader is being built on the belief that books are more than stories. They can lead to conversations, friendships, and adventures that we'll never live ourselves.
Here you'll find honest reviews, thoughtful recommendations, author interviews, and literary discussions, all guided by one simple goal: helping readers discover books worth their time. Because although I'm a reviewer and publishing professional by profession, I'll always be a curious reader first, reading for the sheer love of stories.
